Protecting the Environment and Developing Economy
Since the reform and opening up to the outside world in 1978,the national economy of our country has been developing rapidly,people's lives have been improved a lot.Hower,this cause a problem.The environment is beening polluted seriously.In order to develop economy,lots of factories and restauronts have been set up even in the countryside.They dump wasted water into rivers,let out poisonous gases into the air everyday.In some areas,many animals,such as fishes,pigs and ducks,die from pollution.The air is polluted so badly in some regions that people could hardly breathe.Therefore,we are facing a new
problem:To build a harmonious society,what's the most important thing we should do?Develop economy or protect the environment？To my mind,protecting the environment is the most important,because,as we all know,we have only one Earth.We would have no place to live in if the environment were polluted by ourselves.
People are all willing to vote for Nelson Mandela because of his devotion for the South Africa.
