__D____ nothing to talk about, the head said good-bye and went out of the room.
A. There was B. Being C. As there being D. There being
I told the stranger how to get there but perhaps I __A__ him a map.
A. should have given B. had to give
C. ought to give D. must have given
____C__ , he never helps the poor.
A. As he is rich B. Even he is rich
C. Rich as he is D. Rich even though he is
Not until the game had began __C___ at the sports ground.
A. should he have arrived B. had he arrived
C. did he arrive D. would he had arrived
__B___ quite recently, most mothers in Britain did not take paid work outside the home.
A. Before B. Until C. From D. Since
So many directors __D___, the board meeting had to be put off.
A. were absent B. been absent C. had been absent D. being absent
I can’t find Mr. Fox in her office, she _A_____ for home.
A. might have started B. might start C. may be starting D. may start
The wheel of the old wagon is nearly ___B___ that of a modern car.
A. twice size of B. twice the size of
C. twice as big D. as twice big as
B。是XX在两倍大小,twice the size of ...or .... double the size of ,,,固定表达方式。
The discussion ___C__ the question whether or not we should use our canned food ended in our favor.
A. of B. about C. over D. like
1、 The old couple has been married for 40 years and never once() with each other.
A they had quarreled B they have quarreled C have they quarreled D had they quarreled
2、 so difficult () it to live in an english-speaking country that i determined to learn english .
A i have felt B have i felt C i did feel D did i feel
I felt it so difficult to live...,所以改为倒装时添加的是助动词did】
3、only when your identity has been checked, ().
A you are allowed in B you will be allowed in C will you allow in D will you be allowed in
【同第2题,only 开头的句子要用部分倒装,正常的顺序应该是 you will be allowed in,改为倒装时,助动词will 提前】
4、it was () back home after the experiments.
A not until midnight did he go B until midnight that he didn't go C not until midnight that he went
D until midnight when he didn't go
It was + not unti' that 从句】
5、() a postgraduate,i would at least master two foreign languages.
A should i become B were i to become C had i become D i should become
If I were a postgraduate】
6、() he ill-mannered ,() the laziest and the most irresponsible creature you could ever hope to meet.
A not only is ...but he is also B not only is ...but also C not only is ...but also is he D not only ,,.but als o
【A和B的不同就在于but also 后面的内容,这句话中 not only...but also...连接的是两个句子,not only 句中的谓语动词是 is,but also 后面也需要谓语动词,所以选 but he is also】
7、() a machine been so efficient and accurate as the electronic computer.
A more than ever before B never before has
C in the past ,there never has D formerly ther never was
8、Little () about him when i first met him in that company.
A have i known B had i known C do i know D did i know
I knew little about him when I first met him in that company,表示否定的单词little 提前时,句子用部分倒装,即添加助动词 did,所以答案选D】
欢迎追问,O(∩_∩)O~~
Child as he is, he knows a lot. = As he is a child, he knows a lot.
2. A
would have liked to是would have liked to lend him money的省略写法(后同),是would like to (do sth)的完成形式,意思是“本打算/想要做某事(实际上没做)”;
3. C did he arrive
He didn't arrive at the sports ground until the game had begun.
scarcely...when... = hardly...when... = no sooner...than... 一...就...
Scarcely had he arrived
B要改成:No sooner had he arrived (than) she started complaining

在这里考察would have to do 和would have done的用法。

如果是:In the room, 则选B:In the room there was a wash-basin.
You don't know what to do now, neither\/ nor do I .(你不知道现在该做什么,我也不知道。)
